Rotary District Scholarship for Military Veterans
The Rotary District 5930 Military Veterans Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to honorably discharged veterans to help them earn an undergraduate degree. The attached application includes a description of this scholarship, the forms that need to completed, and a list of the relevant documents that need to be submitted to David Garza, Committee Chair, at dgarza@webbcountytx.gov no later than November 8, 2017.  We encourage you to forward this to anyone you believe would qualify.  Only non-Rotarians are eligible to apply.  
 
 
Rotary District Scholarship for Costa Rica International Experience
The Costa Rica International Scholarship is intended to support three undergraduate students who will have completed at least two-years of university work prior to May 26, 2018 in pursuit of a degree in a field directly related to one of the Rotary Foundation’s Areas of Focus.  (See the attached document titled Areas of Focus Policy Statements for a complete description of these areas.) Scholarship recipients will spend from May 26-June 8, 2018 in Costa Rica working under the supervision of health professionals as volunteer members of a medical brigade responsible for providing medical assistance to individuals in need.  The registration fees, room and board (with some meals), and the flight arrangements for the trip are being paid by Rotary District 5930.  The attached application and document titled Costa Rica International Scholarship Experience provide specific information about this scholarship, the application process, and the relevant documents that need to be submitted to Marissa Longoria, Committee Chair, at marissa.longoria@laredo.edu no later than November 8, 2017.  Only non-Rotarians are eligible to apply.  Please forward this message to anyone you believe would qualify.
 
 
Rotary District Global Grant Scholarship
Rotary District 5930 is excited to announce it is accepting applications for its Global Grant Scholarship.  The purpose of the Global Grant Scholarship is to help qualified graduate students earn a master's degree in another country in an area directly connected to one of the Rotary Foundation's Areas of Focus. The award for the global grant scholarship  for  the  2017-2018  academic  year  will  be $30,000  to $40,000, depending on circumstances.  Each student must study at a university located in a country other than the country of his or her citizenship.
