“November is Foundation Month”

Rotary All Stars we celebrate the centennial of The Rotary Foundation Rotary year 2016-2017. We are Rotary Serving Humanity!

We Fly High with Rotary throughout District 5930 as we see the impact of your generous donations to our Rotary Foundation as clubs use their District Simplified Grants and work on global grants.
This month we will interview applicants for the Scholarships to Costa Rica, Global Grant Scholarships for school year 2017-2018, and the new Veteran’s Scholarship.

The 4th Annual World Polio Day served to remind us how far we have come in the campaign to #EndPolioNow, reinforces we are “this close,” but reminds us we must continue to make this a High priority.   Your donations to Polio are matched 2:1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Why give to our Rotary Foundation and the End Polio Now campaign?

“…No matter how big the task is we can make a change.  For example, Polio is a big task but we will conquer it because we are one big family that helps the world.” Fabian A. Reyes, age 10, Early Act First Knight (EAFK) 4th-5th Grade Service Club member, Rose Shaw Elementary School

As Rotarians in America we also celebrate Thanksgiving in November.  With all the things we have to be thankful for, we appreciate the need to help others by our generous donations to our Rotary Foundation for -
- Promoting Peace
- Fighting Disease
- Providing Clean Water
- Saving Mothers and Children
- Supporting Education and
- Growing Local Economies.

Did you accept the District 5930 Challenge?

  • The call for every Rotarian in District 5930 to contribute 2650?
  • Will it be an extra $26.50? $265? or $2,650?

Ways to Give

The DG and First Dude are Flying High with Rotary as I continue to make my official club visits and board meetings.  Every club visit and board meeting continues to be very special.  Thank you.

  • The Victoria Rotary Club hosted the other Victoria Rotary Clubs for a joint club visit – talk about a lot of Rotary Fun and Fellowship.
  • The four Brownsville Rotary Club Presidents and AG Jacqui Dempsey started a very successful model for an area all clubs DG visit. All Club Presidents were involved in the planning and the DG’s luncheon and official club visit. The Fun and Fellowship was raised to a new High. They also raised $150 for the Foundation through Happy Bucks and Fines (yes they had fun) and raised an additional $150 through the luncheon ticket sales, which they presented to the DG for the Foundation.
  • The Rotary Club of Corpus Christi’s official DG visit gave us an opportunity to join in the First Annual Rotary Day of Service at five locations throughout Corpus Christi involving Rotarians, Friends of Rotary, youth, Interactors and Rotaractors.

Thank you for continuing to share the remarkable things your clubs are doing to serve your members and local and global communities.  Thank you for the warm hospitality as I continue the official clubs visits and board meetings.

Together we will continue to Fly High with Rotary Serving Humanity.
