Past District Governor Gaylan Duncan

Rotarians and friends in D5930, who knew Past District Governor Gaylan Duncan, were deeply saddened by his death on November 13, 2016.  Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with Gaylan’s wife of 58 years, Ella Marie Wepreck Duncan and all the family.

Gaylan participated wholeheartedly in scores of civic, religious, and fraternal organizations throughout his lifetime, always striving to "give back" and do his part. When asked to contribute a quote about the key to contentment and happiness, Mr. Duncan wrote, "My hope is what I do on this good earth will also account for where I have the opportunity to spend my eternity, while at the same time making others feel good as well."

Gaylan was an enthusiastic member of Rotary International, have been named a Paul Harris Fellow. He was Past-President of three individual Rotary Clubs, Past-District Governor for Rotary, and achieved over 50 years of perfect attendance.

In 1983 – 1984 Gaylan was District Governor with an International Theme of 'Share Rotary - Serve People', a theme that resonated well with Gaylan as he lived the Rotary example of ‘Service Above Self’.

Gaylan will be affectionately remembered as a valuable friend and a truly ‘great Rotarian’.  Our thoughts are with his family.

Rest In Peace Past District Governor Gaylan
