FOUNDATION MONTH RESOURCES

Dear Rotarians,

In 1917, Arch Klumph shared his vision - to create an endowment dedicated to doing good in the world – and planted the seed for The Rotary Foundation. That one idea and an initial contribution of $26.50 set in motion a powerful force for good which has transformed millions of lives around the globe. This November, use the resources below to help us celebrate 100 years of The Rotary Foundation.

Promote Our Foundation on social media - Let's tell the world about The Rotary Foundation:

  • Download these shareable graphics and share the work of our Foundation on Facebook, Twitter, or your other social media channels during November.
  • Tell your friends about why you support The Rotary Foundation and invite them to make a contribution.
  • Do an act of good and share it using #100actsofgood.
  • Encourage others to give by sharing this “give” link: www.rotary.org/give.

Talk about our Centennial year - Gifts to The Rotary Foundation have funded high impact, sustainable solutions to pressing needs around the world for the past 100 years. Help ensure that we are able to continue doing good for the next 100 years by being an advocate for our Foundation.

  • Download the centennial promotion kit which includes a presentation dedicated to the History of The Rotary Foundation.
  • Share your project photos and stories on social media and use #TRF100.
  • Plan a Rotary Day in your community to raise awareness of Rotary and it’s Foundation.
  • Dedicate a few minutes at each club meeting in November to educating members about The Rotary Foundation. One easy way to do this is to play a short video at the beginning of your club meeting.

Participate in #GivingTuesday on 29 November - Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season by participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving and celebrating generosity. Last year, Rotarians gave over $170,000 online to our Foundation. This year we want to do even more!

The club with the highest number of donors who make personal online contributions to The Rotary Foundation on #GivingTuesday will receive a copy of the Centennial book and the districtwith highest number of donors who make personal online contributions to The Rotary Foundation on #GivingTuesday will be recognized in the Rotarian Magazine. Promoting online gifts to the Foundation on Giving Tuesday is a great tactic to help your club reach it’s centennial giving goals.

During the month of November, watch our progress towards achieving our $300 million cumulative fundraising goal on Rotary.org. As always, let me know how I can further assistance you in the work you to do support The Rotary Foundation.
