Get ready for World Polio Day

On October 24, you can help Rotary make history by supporting the fight to end polio. Click the more button below the video to find out various ways you and your club can participate.

One way to help is by supporting the fundraising effort of Rotary's own General Secretary John Hewko. On 17 November, he's riding 111 miles in El Tour de Tucson in Arizona. Contribute or learn more at www.crowdrise.com/johnhewko. Read more in Rotary Voices.

Additionally, Rotary created a page on the social media service Thunderclap, which enables supporters to sign up to share a single message at a designated date and time to amplify the voice of our cause. When people agree to add their social media accounts, the polio eradication message will be shared simultaneously across all supporting accounts on World Polio Day to raise awareness of the fight to end this crippling disease. Visit the page on Thunderclap to add your voice.

Rotary is also launching the World's Biggest Commercial on 24 October and inviting supporters to participate by adding their picture. The commercial features Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bill Gates, Jackie Chan, Amanda Peet and other world figures and celebrities participating in Rotary's "This Close" campaign. Check out the prelaunch video to see how it works. Starting 24 October, upload a photo of yourself to Rotary's polio eradication website, www.endpolionow.org, to be added into the constantly expanding commercial.
