Hola,

I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Just before Thanksgiving we celebrated the opening of a new school in the remote village of Las Cabras in Trujillo.  The children there had to walk long distances to get to the nearest school.  Now they will have a community school.  It is a one classroom school....remember those...with one teacher teaching all six grades.  25 children will attend this school.  This was made possible thanks to a generous donation to Hands to Honduras from Nianna Gustovich, a member of the McAllen, Texas, Evening Rotary Club.  The community provided the labor.
We are currently determining our next school construction project for our Rotary volunteers to work on next March...March 7 to March 15.

We also have raised about $60,000.00 towards our next Global Grant to provide clean water to 5000 residents in 5 rural villages.  And, the water project that I am serving as Liaison for...with Engineers Without Borders...is underway in Guadalupe Carney, also serving 5000 people.  Our community labor in Agua Amarilla continues to dig 12 kms of trenching for pipeline down a mountain for their new water system serving 118 households.

This holiday season please consider supporting our work in Trujillo, Honduras.  Hands to Honduras is a 501(c)(3) affiliate of the Port Isabel Texas Rotary Club...begun 22 years ago while I was a member of the Middlebury, Vermont Rotary Club.

   Thanks for your past support!!

Yours in Rotary,
