World Rotaract Week

There is an opportunity to “plant the seeds of growth” in our Rotaract Clubs.  There are approximately 9,522 Rotaract clubs world-wide, with greater than 290 thousand members.  There are possibly as many Rotaract Clubs that have the same type of data integrity struggles as Rotary Clubs.

District 5930 is fortunate to have six Rotaract clubs (according to the Rotary International database).  I am most familiar with the TAMU-CC Rotaract Club because Southside Corpus Christi Rotary Club is their sponsor.  This club has really become a resource for all the clubs in our area.   The Rotaractors have participated with the Rotary Clubs of Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi Evening, Padre Island Corpus Christi and Southside Corpus Christi in service and activities.  These have included Adoption Awareness Picnic, Ramp builds, Habitat for Humanity, Beach Clean-ups, and most recently setting up for a major fundraiser.  They have conducted their own Service projects as well.

The World Rotaract Week provides a great opportunity to introduce yourself or continue to be part of your local Rotaract Club.

Rotary International Convention

The Rotary International Convention and the participation of Rotaract Clubs is a good opportunity for Rotarians and Rotaractors around the world to connect.  Tell them about the Preconvention Facebook page to communicate with the members of other Rotaract Clubs.  https://m.facebook.com/groups/rotaract17/  and for more information go to:

Sooner Rotaract Institute 2017 (SRI)

Date:     April 22, 2017
Host:     Rotary Districts 5750 and 5770
Where:  University of Oklahoma
What:    From David Postic

“Rotary Districts 5750 and 5770 are hosting the second annual Sooner Rotaract Institute (SRI) at the University of Oklahoma! SRI is a full-day Rotaract training event featuring experts in the fields of leadership, public relations, communications, club membership, and more. Our mission is to equip Rotaractors with the information, skills, and resources necessary to make their Rotaract clubs and districts as strong as possible. Although the event is aimed primarily at Rotaractors, there will also be Rotaract-focused sessions catered specifically to Rotarians. Additionally, the SRI curriculum is based on collaboration, so the more Rotarian voices we have, the better!

Advance registration is only $10 for Rotaractors and $20 for Rotarians, which includes the conference, lunch, a t-shirt, and an optional post-event cookout. We are encouraging Rotary clubs to sponsor the Rotaractors’ registration fees for anyone who needs financial support. You can find registration information and other details on our website

We are expecting over 75 Rotaractors and Rotarians from Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas to attend this year’s event, and we want Rotaractors and Rotarians from your area to be a part of it. We also have Rotarians willing to host Rotaractors in their home for the weekend free of charge. Whether you know Rotaract clubs that want to train their incoming officers, educate their members about Rotary, or re-energize their club, they need to come to this event!”  David Postic, Rocky Mountain Rotaract General Secretary.

“In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotaract is changing communities like yours.” Rotary International
