It is hard to believe that March 2021 is upon us.
This Rotary year started with the pandemic raging on.  We were forced to change our plans and goals with the expectation that, by now, we would be back to our normal lives.  There are positive signs, and we can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.  But we cannot let our guard down.
So what can we, as Rotarians, do to help?  There are several ways . . .
members can get involved. Members can
  • enhance community education on COVID-19 vaccinations by sharing information from local and regional health authorities and supporting their efforts.
  • contact local health departments to determine where assistance is most needed.
  • connect with local health officials, to advocate for and support their efforts to ensure all communities receive equal access to the vaccine.
  • continue to participate in projects that support mask wearing, social distancing, proper hygiene practices, and donations of personal protection equipment.
More importantly, members should lead by example, by wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
  • Share images online that reflect these lifesaving behaviors. Get vaccinated.
  • When the time arrives for you to receive the vaccine, share your experience online.
We are living in a very trying time.  Our communities have come to depend on us to provide resources when tragedies strike.  So let’s not let them down.  As Clubs, check with your city and county officials and volunteer your time to help at vaccinations sites.  The District is prepared to assist in any way we can.
