On February 11, 2023, the Rotary Club of Aransas Pass participated in the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce Pardi Gras. Ten gifts were presented to raffle. The raffle was set up to allow the interested person to put a purchased ticket in the bag adjacent to the raffle item they were interested in winning. At the end of the day, Officer Aaron Mendoza and Officer Terry Camack of the Aransas Pass Police Department drew a winning ticket from each representative bag. The winners were contacted and 10 happy people came to claim their gift.
Some gifts were purchased and some were donated. The Rotary Club of Aransas Pass thanks Ramiro Gomez, Ronnie Yeager, Bud Lockwood, Gary Edwards, Meg Reese and Juli Blanda for their financial contribution toward the purchase of a gift certificate from Flaming Ranch, a Paper Crosscut Shredder, a Magellan 30L Hydration Pack, a Fitbit Charge 5, and a 48qt Igloo cooler. We thank the following gift donors: City of Aransas Pass for Aransas Pass Aquatic Center Swimming Passes, Billy Ellis for the Butterfinger Cheesecake, Haskett Bakery for the Pecan Pie, Hope Creations for the Gift Certificate and Dean Thomas for the Shimano Sahara Fishing Reel.
All proceeds from the event will be utilized to support Community Projects and the Rotary Club thanks all who bought raffle tickets.
