The Rotary Club Harlingen Sunburst awarded the Everett "Ev" Driskill Memorial Rotary Scholarship to Kaitlyn McKee, a senior from Idea High School.
This scholarship is about being passionate about the Rotary and having the appetite for serving the community you love as was exemplified by Ev. Kaitlyn has demonstrated her desire to do both through attending RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Camp), as a camper and a trailblazer, which strengthened her leadership and tech skills. She said, "RYLA showed me what I'm capable of." For the next chapter in her education, Kaitlyn is inspired to be an educator and pursue a degree at Austin College. She expressed wholeheartedly as she accepted her scholarship award, "You've invested into my future, so one day I can invest in others."
