Victoria Northside used October to raise $1,616 for Polio Plus in memory of Rex Horst. JoAnn Settles delivered Thursday's World Polio Day message at Victoria Northside.
 
Visiting Rotarian's were President Elect Marilyn Horst of Port Lavaca, President Patricia Rehak of Downtown Victoria, President Elect Eric Balsadua of Cuero, Victoria Rotarian Bud Oliver, CEO of the YMCA of the Golden Crescent.

Lynn Rice's Polio Story from here Book " Franklin D Roosevelt" telling of her rehabilitation of polio at Warm Springs, Georgia in 1944.
 
Linda Wolff's paper on public health outcry of Victoria's experience of polio outbreak in 1946 in San Antonia and Corpus.
 
CA Hartnell's children's book "Scary Spring" of her brush with polio in Southern California in April 1955.
 
And  Kent Grier's encounter at LA County General Hospital of iron lungs in 1958.
