From the Desk of District Governor 2026-2027 Jack Alspaugh:On October 24, 2026, World Polio Day, Rotary District 5930 will join Rotarians across Zones 25B and 29, spanning from Canada to South America, in the World's Largest Polio Walk. Thousands of Rotarians will walk simultaneously at 10:00 a.m. CDT in a powerful demonstration of unity, service, and our shared commitment to ending polio forever.
Together, Zones 25B and 29 have established a fundraising goal of $1 million for End Polio Now. Thanks to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's 2-to-1 matching gift, every dollar raised will be tripled, turning that $1 million into $3 million in a single day. Rotary District 5930 has committed to raising $75,000 toward that goal, and every club in South Texas has an important role to play.
This is more than a walk. It is an opportunity for every Rotary club in District 5930 to stand together in a visible demonstration of our commitment to a polio-free world.

Confirm your club's participation with your Assistant Governor.Attend the scheduled Zoom meetings to receive event updates, planning information, and fundraising resources.Please note: Your Assistant Governor will be contacting you soon with additional details and next steps.District 5930 has a proud tradition of answering the call to service. I am confident our clubs will once again rise to the occasion and demonstrate that South Texas is committed to finishing the fight against polio.
