The Rotary Foundation enables Rotarians to invest in people by creating sustainable, measurable, and long-term economic improvements in their communities and livelihoods by:

1. Building the capacity of entrepreneurs, community leaders, local organizations, and community networks to support economic development in impoverished communities;

2. Developing opportunities for productive work;

3. Reducing poverty in under-served communities;

4. Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to economic and community development.

My Dear Rotarians,

As we enjoy the warm South Texas sunshine, let us take a moment to remember those affected by the recent hurricane and other natural disasters. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone facing these challenges.

October invites us to reflect and take action, especially as we rally behind World Polio Day. Let’s unite to raise awareness and participate in activities throughout the district to support a polio-free world. Your involvement is vital!

Dreamcatcher Summit Success:

We are thrilled to report that the Dreamcatcher Summit on September 21st was a tremendous success! With 26 clubs represented, we fostered vibrant discussions on membership, foundation, and public image, shared innovative ideas, and held a meaningful Peace Pole ceremony. The enthusiasm from all attendees was truly inspiring. Thank you to the wonderful host team and everyone who participated!

News Around the District

Club Visits Update:

Can you believe we’re already a quarter of the way through the new Rotary year? Time flies when you’re making an impact! To date, I have completed 32 enchanting club visits, alongside several inspiring Board of Directors meetings. I've had the joy of visiting North Brownsville, Port Isabel, Laredo Gateway, Laredo Satellite, Laredo Club, Laredo Next Generation, Laredo Under Seven Flags, Laredo Daybreak, North Harlingen, Harlingen Sunburst, and the Harlingen Club. Each visit has been a magical experience, revealing the unique strengths and challenges of our individual clubs.

As we work together to strengthen our club-district relationships and enhance engagement, I’m reminded of the dreams we are collectively nurturing. A particularly fascinating piece of history I discovered during my visits is that Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary International, once walked the streets of our district and attended a Laredo club meeting. A heartfelt thank you to AG Rogelio for his support in uncovering this remarkable legacy of our extraordinary District 5930!

RLI part I in person course AT Brownsville, TX

Good to go for a set of seminars on how to effectively build leaders in your Rotary and Rotaract clubs. Facilitators will share experiences and knowledge on how to move beyond simply managing to truly leading your club by building effective leaders. These seminars will provide the basics on powerful strategies you can use to boost morale and energize your club.
