Thanks to your passion and generosity, we raised $32,204 for the Polio Fund — a total that includes the generous match from the Gates Foundation. Fifteen clubs stepped forward with 100% participation in the Torch of Dreams Challenge—a testament to our unwavering commitment to a polio-free world.
But the torch is still lit! There’s still time to donate and help us reach 100% club participation. Let’s finish strong! Contributions can be made through the Rotary Foundation’s Polio Fund, or reach out to me directly—I’d love to help you be part of this life-saving legacy.
Celebrating Excellence – Dreamcatcher Awards
This year, 22 clubs received the Dreamcatcher Governor’s Excellence Award. Congratulations to each of you for your outstanding service, creativity, and leadership. Thank you, Club Presidents, for sharing the dreams you’ve caught this year. Your stories inspired us all.
The Rotary year isn’t over yet—we have 61 more days to continue catching dreams and making magic. Let’s carry this energy into the next year, and the next, and the next. Because when we dream together, we achieve the extraordinary.
Thank You – To the Team Who Made the Magic Happen
To the amazing team behind the Rotary Games: Thank YOU! You orchestrated four magical days that blended fun, fellowship, service, and inspiration in a way only Rotarians can.
Here’s a glimpse of what we experienced:
- Thursday: We kicked off with an All-Club Luncheon, followed by a high-flying social at Ingleside Airport, welcoming our two aviation heroes who Believe we will end polio.
- Friday: The Unidos Global Service Fair spotlighted collaborative district and global projects. That night, we cheered on the Hooks at Whataburger Field, and yes, they won—Rotarians are clearly good luck!
- Saturday: An inspiring day featuring the 4-Way Test Speech Contest, keynote speakers, and the continuation of the Olympic Village Showcase. Attendees also enjoyed fabulous walking tours, offering unique glimpses into the beauty and culture of the area — a heartfelt thank you to the team who made these experiences possible. The evening gala dinner was a celebration of dreams fulfilled, complete with global cuisine and joyous fellowship
- Sunday: A heartfelt brunch at our home capped the weekend with warmth and reflection.
Around the District – The Magic Continues
Earlier this month, I had the joy of attending Taste of Rockport, a fabulous community and foodie event organized by the Rockport Rotary Club. I also joined the Earth Day celebration in Laredo, where we planted a Peace Pole and 100+ trees, and dedicated a Rotary Legacy Wheel—a powerful moment shared by all Laredo-area clubs.
Meanwhile, in Harlingen, I witnessed Disaster Aid USA in action, helping Rotarians and community members recover from recent floods. This is Rotary in motion—responding with heart, hands, and hope.
Let’s Soar in These Last 61 Days
Let’s finish this year strong:
- Bring in new members—share the magic!
- Grow our Foundation—fuel our future!
- Share your stories—ignite inspiration!
Quote of the Month:
“Don’t wait for the stars to align. Reach up, grab them, and rearrange the sky.”
Together, we’re not just changing the world—we’re dreaming it better. Let’s keep catching dreams, making magic, and lighting the way for future generations.
Yours in Rotary Service and Magic,
