News Around the District
Looking back, the month of October was a whirlwind of inspiring visits and meaningful events. It began with a visit to the Los Fresnos Rotary Club, followed by Brownsville, San Benito, and San Diego. I was honored to participate in the Ride for Rotary, organized by the Rotary Club of Historic Brownsville —an incredible event full of contagious energy that helped amplify Rotary’s public image in the community.
I also had the privilege of attending the rededication of the Peace Pole with the Rockport Club—a powerful symbol of Rotary’s commitment to peace. Visiting clubs across the District was a true highlight, including my home club the Rotary Club of Southside Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi Evening, West Corpus Christi, Pharr, and Edinburg. Another memorable moment was meeting the Los Fresnos Interact Club—with 300 active members! What an inspiring example of the next generation of Rotary leadership.
October also featured hands-on service at the Sarita Rain Garden project, a Global Grant initiative sponsored by the Corpus Christi Club and supported by many clubs across our District and beyond. It was incredible to see the collective impact of our efforts toward environmental sustainability.
On October 24th, we marked World Polio Day with meaningful fundraising events throughout the District. I was privileged to join the Rotary Polio Moto journey, riding alongside my husband, Mike, Joe, and other riders. The support and warm welcomes from clubs along the way were heartwarming reminders of our shared commitment to ending polio.
The month wrapped up with visits to Three Rivers, Alice, and Freer, where I was continually inspired by the dedication of Rotarians working to strengthen their communities. With just seven more clubs to go, I’m now on the final stretch of my visits, eager to connect with even more Rotarians along the way.
Every club in our District exemplifies the same passion, service, and commitment, creating a lasting impact in the communities they serve. It’s truly remarkable how deeply Rotary is woven into the fabric of all our cities, driving meaningful change across the region.

With these inspiring moments fresh in my heart, I am especially excited for what lies ahead—our Dreamcatcher Magic Celebration on November 16th. This event will honor the unwavering commitment of Rotarians and celebrate the collective impact we make together!
