The Lone Star Rotary Leadership Institute (LSRLI) kicked off the Rotary Multi-District Training Institute (RMDTI) in Pflugerville, Texas, with three pre-learning events on July 30–31, 2026—and District 5930 Rotarians were there!
1. District RLI Chairs Retreat — Setting Up for Success: People, Promotion & Partnerships
PDG Andy Hagan, District 5930 RLI Chair, joined District RLI Chairs and Lone Star RLI leaders from across the Division to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and prepare for a successful year of RLI learning opportunities.
2. RLI Part I — The Rotarian
What makes Rotary meaningful—and how can you make the most of your Rotary experience? RLI Part I is an interactive, discussion-based learning experience where Rotarians explore leadership, Rotary opportunities, The Rotary Foundation, service, and ways to become more engaged in their clubs and communities.
Congratulations to DGN Adriana Contreras Hernandez, Historic Brownsville Rotary Club; and Flor Avellaneda and Gabrielle Torres-Coley, Rotary E-Club of Rio Grande Valley, on completing Lone Star RLI Part I! Flor and Gabrielle are new Rotarians and charter members of the E-Club.
Each earned an LSRLI Certificate of Completion and 5.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) or 0.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Thank you to District 5930’s PDG Andy Hagan and PDG Dr. Zehra Surani (“Dr. Z”) for serving as RLI Part I facilitators.
3. LSRLI Faculty Certification & Re-Certification
Great RLI experiences begin with skilled facilitators! LSRLI Faculty Certification & Re-Certification strengthens the facilitation skills needed to lead engaging, interactive, discussion-based RLI learning experiences.
Congratulations to District 5930 Rotarians DG Jack Alspaugh, Dernay Coley-Torres, IPDG Elaine Hernandez, and Luis Torres-Hostos on completing LSRLI Faculty Re-Certification!
All three LSRLI events were supported by District 5930 PDG Debbie High, Lone Star RLI Co-Chair, as part of the team bringing RLI learning opportunities to Rotarians across the Lone Star Division.
